Wait for your TURN
"WAIT YOUR TURN"
When the Israelites came up against Jericho they didn't know what to do, they couldn't go back either, Jericho was a must take in other for them to advance forward.
You see, Jericho was a small city, but her walls were well defended, so high and thick, a small city that Joshua could easily take if they break through, but historians tells us that the wall of Jericho was so high and thick that those guys could ride their horses on the top of the wall, that was how well defended it was, the folks inside that city went to bed without worrying about the army waiting outside to attack, their confidence was fixed not on the strength of their own army, but on the strength of that wall.
When Joshua cried to God He gave him a way out. Every time I read through this scripture and I get to this point I just laugh at the pages, that was a very ridiculous way out for a God whose single breath can break the wall of Jericho and that of China put together. But look at the ridiculous victory process God put them through;
The Lord said "I have given Jericho into your hands."
Okay great, so shall we just match up to the front, knock for them to open the gate, and then walk in and slaughter them all very easily since you have delivered them to us?
Nope, continuing the Lord said;
"But let everyone match round the city once every day with the Ark and the trumpet for seven days, and on the seventh day when you hear the sound of the trumpet let out a loud cry and the walls of Jericho will fall down flat."
I can just imagine what the people he was leading must had said to him when he shared that ridiculous suggestion with them, a God who parted the red sea with a staff cannot take down a common wall. I can only imagine how many of those guys faithfully matched around with him for seven days.
Most of them must have stopped after the first day when it seemed like the wall was not even cracking.
Most of them must have abandoned the task and called it a foolish waste of time.
Most of them would have mocked God for bringing them this far only to make them look stupid before a small army.
I can imagine how the people of Jericho must have laughed at them from the top matching around like fools.
Yet they kept matching and blowing their trumpet, and on the seventh day the same God that parted the sea for them to walk through did it again with the wall of Jericho.
I don't know who God is trying to reach with this but there is a process to every victory. Your current situation might not look like what God is saying, your current status might not look like all the promises God has made to you in the scripture, your life might not be reflecting the beautiful testimonies of other people, but it will come through for you, all He needs you to do is keep matching around that wall and blowing that battle trumpet.
Are you hearing me?
Your ex school mates might all be getting married and going abroad to live with their husbands flashing gorgeous photos online but keep matching, their wall of Jericho is not the same as yours, wait your turn.
A friend got pregnant few months after her wedding but you've been married 5 years without a seed keep matching, that is their own wall of Jericho broken down, wait your turn.
It might look like everyone is starting a marriage-leading relationship besides you, but wait your turn, their seven days is different from yours. Are you hearing this?
He says "for I know the plans I have for you, and the expected end I am taking you is way better than the end you have imagined for yourself."
Let them go ahead and get married before you, buy their asoebi and dance very well at their party, that is your battle trumpet. Celebrate their child's naming ceremony and present the best gifts, that is your own battle trumpet. The promise is not that the wall will fall, He says that the wall will fall down FLAT, and everything behind that wall will be yours.
It doesn't matter the challenge before you, Wait your turn! Keep praising through to breakthrough. Glory to God!
