Tanker drivers set 2 banks on fire

Two banks have reportedly been set on fire by angry tanker drivers in Lagos after one of their members was allegedly shot by police officers.
According to Premium Times, the two banks are Diamond Bank and Sterling Bank which have their branches located at the Creek Road area of the state.
The incident which happened on Wednesday, July 19 caused commotion in the area.
“The tank drivers usually line their vehicles along the road and police will come to collect money from them, those that refuse to part with money will have their tyres deflated.
“This will be the second time the police will shoot a tanker driver this week.”
earlier reported that people in the Nkwelle-Ezunka area in Oyi local government of Anambra state are counting their losses after a gas plant exploded killing two people.
Vanguard reports that apart from the two that lost their lives, two others were hospitalised after the sustained serious injuries.
The driver of the tanker that brought the gas died from the tragedy while another young man, Ezenwoke Nwigwe died while trying to put off the fire with a fire extinguisher.
It was reported that Nwigwe who hailed from Ikeala Ngwa in Abia State recently completed his National Youth Service Corps in Oyo state.
An eye witness said the gas was being discharged from the tanker at the station when it exploded.
